The Palais Garnier is one of Paris’s most breathtaking cultural treasures, and visiting it feels like stepping straight into a world of elegance, drama, and artistic grandeur. From the moment you arrive, the building’s opulent façade captures your attention—rich sculptural details, golden accents, and majestic arches that set the tone for what’s inside. The moment you enter the Grand Staircase, you’re enveloped in a magnificent blend of marble, sweeping balustrades, and shimmering chandeliers that make the space feel like a palace of dreams. Inside the auditorium, the deep red velvet seats, ornate gilding, and Chagall’s colourful ceiling create a truly magical atmosphere. Watching a performance here—whether opera, ballet, or symphonic—is unforgettable, not just for the artistry onstage but for the historic surroundings that elevate the entire experience. The building also offers self-guided tours that give you time to admire hidden corridors, mirrored foyers, and richly decorated salons. Each room tells a story of French culture, craftsmanship, and artistic ambition. Whether you’re a lover of architecture, music, or history, the Palais Garnier is a must-visit. It’s a masterpiece of French design and one of the most enchanting venues anywhere in the world.

A stunning building inside and out. The architecture, the grand staircase, and the level of detail make the visit unforgettable. Even without watching a show, exploring the interior is worth it. It’s easy to reach and perfect for anyone interested in art, history, or classic European elegance.

Beautiful church up on the top of hill. Don't try to walk it but take an Uber instead. Once you get up there you will not be disappointed with the view of the whole city. Walking down is OK and probably 500 steps. Close by the church (1/4 mile) is the Lugdum museum which is also worth while visiting. Has an old roman style open theatre.
